(25,853 posts)It's my go-to side dish for my Grecian chicken (marinate boneless cut up chicken breasts in [and you absolutely must do it in this order] oregano, chopped garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil) which is then grilled. I use a table top electric grill and get excellent results. The other side dish is stir fried veggies: carrot (sliced thin on the diagonal), green or red pepper, onion, zucchini, and snow peas. I cut up and refrigerate the veggies and stir fry one serving at a time.
I also do boneless pork chop teriyaki with those two side dishes.
What's really great is that the meats freeze wonderfully after they've been cooked, and when I want another meal I just take out one portion and heat it up in the microwave. I live alone, so figuring out single portions and how to save or freeze leftovers is huge in my culinary life.

On a side note, in order to make me feel like I'm "cooking" I doctor the the hamburger before adding the helper - during browning I always hit it with salt and pepper and crushed garlic and a splash or three of Worcestershire sauce.

(20,185 posts)Slice it thin and fry the SPAM until it's crispy.
I can also eat a ridiculous number of deviled eggs. I make them with a little horseradish and garnish with fresh dill. When I take them to a pot luck they evaporate.

(20,185 posts)We dressed up in fatigues and scrubs and a friend carved a "SPAM lamb" like Klinger had done.
I also had a coworker who basically lived on SPAM when he was in the military. He said he would buy a multi-pound can of it and it "would last forever!" The less he spent on real food, the more money he had for alcohol.

(12,132 posts)I don't even need salt on my grits or eggs when we have spam to go with it. That and scrapple make any meal more fun.
I will also unashamedly fry baloney. Fried baloney sandwich with mayo, american cheese and lettuce on toast. yum!

(4,606 posts)A good 1/4 of my diet consists of tuna melts. Mixed with Hellmann's mayo, salt and lots of pepper, slapped on a slice of bread and smothered with cheddar.
Tuna in Kraft Mac and Cheese is good, too. But it's gotta be Kraft.

(2,187 posts)Instead of a roux in my homemade mac & cheese, I cheat and use a little bit of store bought alfredo sauce instead. I also add a little bit, just a squirt, of dijon mustard in there after I've added in my cheese blend (cheddar/asiago/parmesan). Making a pot of homemade mac & cheese is now easier than ever. The alfredo sauce is relatively a neutral flavour when a little milk and butter are added in.

(2,107 posts)You should try French onion dip in ham sandwiches on Jewish Rye bread. Really good!
French onion dip on Fries is delicious too.
I sprinkle soy sauce on leftover spaghetti sometimes. Not on the first go-round, but when it's leftover and gotten a little dry in the fridge on day two.
When the nacho cheese gets lower in the jar than a chip can reach, I crush a couple of fist fulls of chips, put them in the jar and eat it out with a spoon. It's all very civilized.

I don't even bother slicing it, I'll just gnaw on one like a beaver chomping on wood

(14,015 posts)I have, on occasion in the past, used prepared ginger paste and minced garlic from a jar rather than preparing the fresh articles.
I am deeply ashamed, and will never repeat that travesty.

(22,252 posts)Mustard helps relieve the cramp. Sometimes I add cheese if I am also hungry.
Cookie dough, cake batter, unbaked pastry dough.
Peanut butter and banana on toast open faced. I bow to the person who first put peanut butter and bananas together.
Ditto for bacon and tomato but that's not a culinary sin by any stretch of the imagination

I guess I don't know what to think other than I must try it.

1.) the Blanc-Café from Café-Tasse in Belgium, which is white chocolate with finely ground coffee running through it.
2.) the huge squares of white Chocolate by Läderach of Switzerland ($100 a kilo, enjoy it SLOWLY!!), one variation with raspberries and black currant running through it, and the other variation with toasted almonds, shelled pistachios and bits of orange and untreated orange rind running through it.
I'll live 5 years less long for this stuff, but what a way to go!

I love SPAM (fried)
I eat cold baked bean sandwiches.
I'm sure I have a lot more sins, but I can't think of them now.
