Dang! Snow Day Issues

The school that's located one-half block away from where I live is closed. Unfortunately that's not where I'm scheduled to work as a substitute.

I have to drive 7+ miles to the school where I *am* scheduled to work. And it has a delayed opening for one hour (9:30)

Plus now I have to dig out my car.

Yeah, I could call in and say I'm stuck, but I'm going anyway.

I'm checking to make sure that this isn't a fake-out, where I drive to my assignment to discover administrators have closed the school for the day after the fact.

1. Luckily today and tomorrow are my days off

Looks like we got about 8 inches here in Central Mass.

2. Took me over an hour on the driveway and walkway

It's fluffy on the top, but it has started to get heavy and it was hard to move off of the shovel.

I guess that's a pretty good workout for the day, though

Good luck on getting to your job! My daughter has a teacher planning day and everyone is off tomorrow for town meetings.

3. Minus 6 real and minus 15 (feels), so for first time in a long time, no 6:30 AM long walk for dog

We've skipped our early morning four-mile walk only rarely, but she won't tolerate booties and I think it is too cold for my "spray PAM" trick to work. We'll do a quickie around the neighborhood, but tough times for pup today.

4. Only an inch or so, and it's not sticking, but...

tonite that cold front in the Midwest will be here and it'll drop from 35 to the teens.

Another but-- today I have to drive about 30 miles one way and 60 miles the other. And take a ferry.

Gonna be a long day.

5. Ouch. Where do you live?

We’re in New Jersey. We got a ton of snow dropped on us last night. Everything is opening late.

6. All districts around here closed but ours

Has a 2-hour delay. I think the storm wasn’t as bad as predicted. Heavy wet snow but streets are just wet. PITA cleaning my car off.
