Some sad news today in the cottonwood tree, a Decorah Eagle egg was broken......

1. So sorry to hear this.

2. The folks that run the site think it was the first born because of the color of the egg.....

as the eggs developed they do change color, and this egg shell was darker then the other eggs. So egg #2 and #3 are still ok......if you look around the site there is soooooooooo much information on this nest and it’s eaglets and parents. Soooooooo informative. Losing an egg is so sad tho.
