(102,248 posts)way up in her vaulted ceiling--with a life-sized jaguar bronze statue. To be honest, I'd not noticed it either, until she looked up and absolutely turned rigid, made herself "big" and sent a growl the way of that cat that would have frozen it in its tracks (had it been a bit more "alive" )...LOL
Yeah, she did calm down, seeing that it never moved, but boy, she was not happy.

(2,596 posts)I guess he'd never looked up at the ceiling before, and when he saw that fan, he rolled over freakishly fast, yowled and jumped straight up with all four paws flat on the floor with his back raised like those cats in cartoons. He made a beeline out of the den and hid under the bed. That was one of the funniest things I'd seen up to that point in my life.

That's what I'd call a feline misadventure.

(22,364 posts)I figured out he was growling at our Japanese beckoning cat statue.
I took it down and let him sniff it
He never growled at it again

A couple weeks ago, we brought one of our cats back from the vet wearing the Cone of Shame (to make sure he didn't scratch at an inflamed eye). The other cat backed away and fluffed her tail when she saw how much bigger he was all of a sudden....

(6,552 posts)The pack consisted of a Rottweiler, a German shepherd, and about 40 cats and kittens. When he was outside, all I had to do to check on him was to locate the pack. He was a big dog in a little body!

(1,975 posts)We were all having a shop party on one of Kodiak's sunny Saturday afternoon. There were probably 20 families there, all with there pets. All of a sudden, we hear a woman screaming and a huge commotion. A bald eagle had swooped down and made off with one of the families pet. Im not quite sure what it was, but it was of the smaller breed. We were always told to not let any of our 4 legged family pets out if they were under 10lbs for this very reason.

(20,818 posts)a wooden cat statue he wanted for Christmas. It was very real-looking. One of our four cats, an extremely intelligent but very territorial tortoiseshell, immediately hated it and would always growl, hiss and bat angrily at it. Sometimes she'd go into his room just to stare and hiss at it. It was always hilarious.
