By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.
the witches (describing Macbeth), act III scene IV
"Lesser than Macbeth, and greater."......Not so happy, yet much happier.
the witches (describing Banquo), act I scene III
"In the great hand of God I stand; and thence
Against the undivulg'd pretence I fight
Of treasonous malice!"
Banquo, act II scene III
"Thou canst not say I did it: never shake
Thy gory locks at me."
Macbeth (upon seeing Banquo's ghost), act III scene IV

(66,462 posts)He didn't start out evil. His tragedy was his downfall.
Trump has always been greedy, grasping, and selfish.
Macbeth questioned his every move, the further down into evil he descended, knowing he was selling his soul for the crown, and that it wouldn't be worth it in the end. His self-awareness was his one quality that was never corrupted.
None of that can be said for Trump.

(976 posts)the ghost of Banquo because he knew that Banquo was the better man. Deep down Trump knows that Mccain was a better man than himself. Otherwise he wouldn't be obsessed with a dead man.
