The mallard couple is back!!!

There they are, hanging out under the blue spruce tree taking a nap. (sorry, no picture. Just visualize it.)
Yes, I feed them!
I keep a bag of commercial duck pellet food in the freezer. I have to be sneaky putting it out because they keep an eye on me and get up and leave. If I do it right, with food and water they splash, eat and play.



I love mallards!

Nature waking us up is a blessing. It has taught me to get to bed sooner to compensate, including my cat!

Old nest on top of boathouse next door, and last year I watched them care for TRIPLETS hatched in June/July.

They would come and eat the gravel from my driveway every couple of days. We called them “The Quackersons”.

It was so cute to watch how protective the Mr. was of the Mrs., while she was laying eggs.
