I just love morning doves! What a delight to have one in our hanging planter.
What to do? ...just let the flowers die off or water them when the dove leaves?

OP
In some areas they are called rain crows because you hear them cooing before it rains.

In other areas a rain crow is a sort of cuckoo. But my dad always called mourning doves rain crows.

(6,797 posts)4. My mother always had finches make nests in her ferns.
Always the same side of the porch every year. She would take it down when the mother flew off, water the plant and hang it back up. Taking it down also kept from getting the nest wet. Mama bird always came back.
