Finally got a night of sleep

we have been out of town for 2 weeks taking care of some family business. I did not sleep well the last 3 nights there, or our first night back home. Yesterday, got the fur family out of doggie hotel, and last night I felt complete. We were back in our King size bed with daughter Tessie between us, Sherman the Dal, Choxie the Golden, and Neli the old pound girl herself, all sleeping blissfully in a spot on the bed. PiPi kitty purring on Tess' stomach, and Ziggity kitty sleeping on pillow above Mrs. K's head.
I just looked,, smiled at everyone so peaceful and sleeping, sighed once ,and woke up 14 hours later,

Feeling Blessed

The more dog in the bed, the less sleep. One is fine but two is too much. I just get up and move dem4decades May 2019 #2

that there are not times I feel exactly the same, but last night was definitely not one of those nights..we are blessed with well behaved dogs, who know play time and seem to understand that sleeping with family is a reward. For some reason, they act accordingly.
sarcasm on, I honestly don't see your down side dem4,,, after all ,it was only 3 people and 5 furries on the bed!!!! /sarcasm off

They were my sleeping pills. 😺

Glad you got 14 hrs. I'm super envious since I stay sleep deprived due to insomnia. It affects my brain/mental acuity.

Me, the Mrs, and the 5 dogs.

The dogs are always welcome in the bed and usually it is 2 or 3 at a time, sometimes only 1, sometimes 4, and very occasionally none or all 5. I find it comforting to wake in the middle of the night and feel one of them snuggled against me, or looking for an ear scratch.

Glad you are home with your entire family.

My sweet furry died a year ago and I have been sleeping all alone since then. There is nothing like the peace I feel when snuggled up against a beloved dog (or cat, if I weren't allergic).

to read these posts, I am so sorry. I never thought I could replace either, until our Vet told us when she put one of our cats down with cancer at 16 years old. " you guys are good pet parents, never stop being that" The kind of love you are missing right now, means to me,, you are same kind of person and should take same advice. hoping you find your comfort again too..
