A friends band played this a few decades ago and it was the first time I ever heard it. Loved it ever since !

You can hear what was going on back then on the music scene—Chuck Berry, Elvis, Little Richard, Fats Domino.

Louis Jordan was a precursor of them all.

Chris Strachwitz (Arhoolie Records) thinks he's the granddaddy of jump blues, and Boy howdy, you should see Chris' eyes light up when he's talking about Big Joe Turner in the film, This Ain't No Mouse Music!
