anyone know about renter's insurance?

I've had renters insurance forever. Today I got an email from my management company saying that me policy is not in compliance because it "does not list <company's name> as in interested party"

Is that I thing? My address is on the policy as insured which seems like it should be enough. Is it normal to put the name of the renter on the insurance policy? I have never done that before.

Makes it easier for your landlord to go after your renters policy insurer for damages.

Just ask the insurance company to make your management company a "named insured" or an "additional insured." Confirm with your management company based on that the insurance company says.

Just call your ins. company and tell them you need a statement saying that. It's only one page and can be done immediately. They can email it to you & you can send it on to your management company.

if someone is requiring you to have the insurance, they are the party needing to be indicated on the the policy itself (the company owning the apartment complex, for example). Of course it's in the long line of them passing more and more costs onto the renter but to be fair, it is ALWAYS good to have renters insurance

There was no choice. So presumably the management company was named on there to begin with, since they were the ones making me to get the insurance. So I would just contact your management company with what exactly they want you to do about this issue.
