Have a nice swim. Oh, and if a shark bites your leg off, remain calm. Don't bleed.

For the last several days, the water has been glorious here on Cape Cod. Warm, clear, the occasional seal poking its head up just beyond us. Apparently, with a hungry great white shark right behind it way too often for comfort. Our favorite beach, Longnook Beach here in Truro, has been closed several times this year, due to great white shark sightings in the shore area--including today.

I am interested in neither playing a bit part in the next Jaws movie, nor BEING a bit part in the next Jaws reality show.

Most inshore shark bites are mistakes and they let go. If it is a Great White I doubt the intention dameatball Jul 2019 #5

I used to swim in the ocean. Now, I'm content to walk the beach or wade (ankle deep)...LOL

We all head for New York City tomorrow for our elder daughter's civil ceremony wedding of Friday. Katrina from The Nation suggested a meet-up Friday afternoon, which fits perfectly into an empty slot in the schedule, but that is the only non-family event while we're there. On Sunday, we head back up here for the rest of our vacation, and our younger daughter heads back for Germany. The last time I interrupted our vacation up here was in 2012, when I got a last-minute invitation to spend an hour with President Obama in Washington. For THAT, I made an exception. Otherwise, it's difficult to get me off-cape!

wouldn't be scared of a shark, especially when the shark prefers seal meat.
Have a wonderful time!
