"Does The Dog Die?"
I can't watch movies with animal abuse/ death. It has helped me choose films

(16,377 posts)I'm the same way. Of course, 99.9% of the time, the dog does, indeed, die.

(102,247 posts)Season 1 had been "laugh out loud funny," then I started season 2... the same salty witty crosstalk and reactions to the bizarre people in their lives as well as the circumstances they find themselves living in, but then they have the most callous reaction I have ever seen in any tv show to the accidental death of their dog, complete with tossing his body in the trash with not a bit of remorse.
At least in comedies like Chevy Chase' National Lampoon Vacation movie, where the dog is likewise made a "fatal comedic device" they at least had the good sense to show regret.
Uggh. That's a line crossed too far. Who the hell thought audiences would appreciate THAT?
I will be using that site in the future.

(6,261 posts)I can watch people die by the score (well, I watch Midsummer Murders and the like, so there), but animals getting hurt is beyond the pale...
Of course, for the record, I am a hermit and misanthrope.

(38,311 posts)... as a way to show the bad guy is bad, or as a cheap illustration that life is sometimes very difficult. I've got more than enough real world experience with that shit.
I've never seen or read "Old Yeller."
On the Netflix list I notice I've avoided most of it.

I saw Norseman got dinged for sexual content, but I thought it was funny.
Yes, people die...
