Ok at work and having a coffee and a blueberry tasty cake. We have two generators to load and no flatbed trailers so we wait. Anyway my heads in fishing ok on a whim, I bought these helgramite soft body lures when I was restocking beetle spinners yes a blast from the past my youth beetle spinners, and they produce. So I was buying beetle spinners for my two junior Kirk gowdy anglers our sons.

We were getting kind of low as the boys like getting caught in trees. Especially the other day my one son went to retrieve a beetle spinner he caught a tree branch with. And he sunk in mud up to his ass. And spouting choice adjectives digging his sandals out of mud. As his brother and I supported him by laughing.

I’ve looked for live helgramites at creek wading turning over rocks. To the embarrassment of these two fifteen year old professionals anglers. Really dad your Appalachian ways and upbringing is showing. But when I find a live one bam it’s on hook and dad is catching, so I bought a pack of these helgramites in lures I use jig heads on them.

So other day Sunday I put a helgramite a uncle bucks and pulled in probably 4 nice bass several panfish. As my guys my diehards watching me then they’re taking off. The rebel plugs or bettle spinners and putting on these uncle bucks helgramite lures. Cast it in no reeling just let in go and catch GOOD LUCK.

2. I agree with TEB, not his boys

They have complete kits for examining the bugs riverside before choosing a fly. I don't do it, but it's a legitimate thing.

3. I got a nickel for every helgramite I found in the shallows of New River

in Hinton WV. My best customer was Bill Hoover, who also paid a penny per nightcrawler. You could also catch helgramites as they crashed into the neon lights at the Dairy Queen.

A nickel was big money back then, and worth it because helgramites are scary-looking mothers.
