My butternut squash experiment was a success!

I saved some from last year's garden just to see how long they would last.

Opened 2 up this morning - both were perfect - baked them - delish!

My goal is to be able to grow all my own food and eat fresh fruits and veggies all year long.

Unfortunately, the fucking deer ate all of my 2 dozen squash plants, AND my carrots and my beets and my elderberries.

Putting up a fence next year....

I have a fence around my garden and a fence around my yard! One year a groundhog ate my beautiful broccoli plants clear down to the ground!

Of the original 5, 3 made it.

My woodchuck got all my brussels sprouts last year - the day before I was going to harvest and freeze them.
