I became a great aunt again today, so today hasn’t sucked as much for me.

Except for croco-pup. I’ve never had a lab before. That biting phase that puppies go thru? It is that, but on steroids.

He’s actually a mix, but everyone thinks he’s all lab. Some think he’s chocolate and some think he’s black. His coloring is kinda both. Ombré dog. We’ve nicknamed him Ferdinand because he’s such a non-dog pup. Except the biting.

Thanks for reminding me of of some great times!

Keep up the good fight!

I get to look about 4-5 miles of a county in PA called New Freedom because it was the first place over the Mason-Dixon line in PA where slaves were supposed to be free. As if any slave owner or hunter would stop chasing a slave there.

So, I'm brought to tears by my view here too sometimes.

Jeeze, I can't wait to get back to the West!

...it was an old Indigenous American trail that the immigrants, (ok, settlers) used to deliver their crops etc. to Baltimore.

Sometimes I think of the runaway slaves who may have been chased up the trail past my home. Hiding, terrified and hungry for food, water and "new freedom".

And then tears fall.

I’ve been having issues with a knee (arthritis) and she was giving me tips on how to cook down the indica to use in a cookie recipe. DIY dosing for homemade edibles.

Really not the conversation I expected to have with her. Ever.
