I hope he/she gets over them soon! It's so annoying. I haven't had them in ages, knock on wood. Poor little pupper!

That does the trick. For people the best think is to pretend you are sucking on a piece of hard candy for about 30 seconds. It helps to regulate the diaphragm I have been told. Whenever my students got them I told them to do that and it always worked.
