frequented Discos, and danced the night away? Which of you ladies OR gents danced the night away in platform shoes?
Loved the Bee Gees? (This has been inspired by CTYankee's post about "Enough is Enough" and Donna Summer.)
Damn, we don't have a dance smiley?? That just isn't right!

(7,401 posts)Good travelin music. That family experienced the highs and the lows. I never was that crazy about Saturday Night Fever, but it sure was popular. Actually I always thought it would typecast Travolta. I was wrong.

(9,581 posts)and I did. That's something I really miss since I've gotten old - dancing. My center of gravity has changed big time, and believe me, it just isn't the same!

(17,023 posts)I hate that people dont dance anyone. Going out is no where near as much fun. Several pairs of platform shoes and bell bottom jump suits.

(9,275 posts)I saw it at the movies when it first came out and none of the music was on the radio yet. Awesome. But I recall I found the plot pretty depressing.

(25,700 posts)I loved the music and the dancing.
I saw a documentary about Disco. It took off like crazy in 1975 and started to fizzle in 1979.
Why did it take off? Record companies found Disco cheaper to produce. Unfortunately, it hurt artists because there was less artist time involved in Disco.
Why it fizzled? I can't remember.
But I loved the music.
In came the 80s, but I just couldn't dance to tunes like "Don't, don't you want me" and "Whip It"
