Doesn't force the dog closer for a hug... just lets the critter approach and gently pets and skritches.

Hope they have many years together.

. . .I was a little concerned that he was going to scare the puppy. But then he was so gentle and careful with the puppy.

Then the puppy lifted himself up to lick the little boy's face and I said, "Puppy loves you; you love the puppy. All's right with the world."

And it truly is.
