I'm cold!
This central Texan is not used to this 33 degree weather! Especially so early in the season!
Keep Warm DU'ers!

(34,136 posts)By the time we got home it was 50 F - a 16 degree drop in 8 hours! WE had not realized it was going to get that cold and didn't take our coats, just a light sweater for me and a flannel shirt for my husband. It dropped to 27 F in the middle of the night.
Tonight it's supposed to be 41 F and cloudy - the clouds tend to hold in the land warmth to mitigate the temperature drop.

(34,386 posts)it's still coming down. I'm glad I don't live near Lake Michigan around I-96/I-94. They're predicting over a foot of snow tonight/tomorrow & windy. I-94 in that area is famous for its multi-car pileups. It will be dangerous with whiteouts predicted. Yuck. It's much calmer here. However, two of my spoiled brats wouldn't venture out on the balcony, but Rosie braved it.

(7,576 posts)low of 13 tonight. Furnace set at 65 and running almost continually. Thank goodness I have a warm water bed for me and my 4#puppy to crawl into tonight.

(11,686 posts)get your home heated up, find your warmest jammies and socks, your biggest thickest blanket, all of the warm bodies available, and a cup of tea or cocoa.
Then stay warm from the administration kindly telling us climate change does not exist and is only in our heads.

(22,670 posts)Fall is hanging in there with a vengeance. Mid 60s low 70s. Go up into the mountains and it's a similar story. No precipitation for a month or better and nothing in the forecast.
The jetstream is playing some not-so-funny games with the weather. As nice as it is to having one sunny day after the other, when is Fall ever arriving? It's almost Winter!!
Lock him up.
(6,929 posts)The strongest super typhoon ever recorded over Northern Pacific waters disrupted the Artic Jet Stream, sending the polar vortex south.

But for now, the rain is not coming our way.

(31,388 posts)and due to start raining within an hour. The temp is supposed to start falling, too, and by this time tomorrow is predicted to be 25 degrees.
Our average monthly low temp in November is about 40 degrees. We don't usually get lows in the 20's until January.

(25,331 posts)I have a volunteer job in an office. I wore my usual open toed sandals with knee high stockings. (I've got super flat feet and only own open toe and new balance shoes) Athletic shoes weren't an option. The office heat was lacking and my feet were freezing. Afterward, I went to Jims and got coffee and tortilla soup (yum). Then I went to our local County Executive meeting. I had to work in the entry and was exposed to cold air. My feet continued to freeze. After the meeting we went and ordered soup.....
