I suspect whatever it is it's a negative term. 'Womanizer' is positive in a nudge nudge wink wink sort of way

(153,226 posts)but I don't see either term as positive - more like calculated people who use members of the opposite sex

(8,208 posts)I could be wrong, but I think people are much less likely to stigmatize women with multiple partners or women who have casual sex than they used to be. I've been with Mr. Femmedem for 20 years, so what do I know? But it seems to be no big deal among my younger friends and in film or tv.

(3,585 posts)every male who sees her whether it be hundreds or even thousands, while the average male is almost never successful in finding a female who wants to have sex with him, even a successful "womanizer" may be judged successful by merely finding one or two females a week who are willing to have sex with him.
Science
Females are constantly having to reject countless potential sex partners and find ways to keep them at bay, or from even approaching, while males are constantly having to seek and work at it, measuring success one at a time, or by a dozen or two a year rather than by hundreds a day.
Tit for Tat, both sexes the same, mirror image, etc, therefore humans seeing both as the same and measuring both in the same way sexually isn't real
The female carries a baby, the male spreads his seed.

(17,052 posts)It was in a book about James O. Wilson's tome on Socio-biology. I tried to read Wilson's, but didn't have time, 600 some pages iirc. The book with a quote was shorter and pointed out the highlights of the theory.

(63,221 posts)Not saying it's a good thing to call a woman, just that it's a term that is used to call a woman who acts like a man who is known to be a "womanizer". I would just call her "experimental" or "highly-sexed".
