and since my kids live in the area, I don't need to travel for thanksgiving day.

So here I sit waiting for a call or email that'll trigger me to immediately leap in to action...

Well the "action" of looking up the requested information and typing up a suitable response.

I am a systems analyst, we don't exactly live a life of adventure after all.

I was a supervisor in an accounting group. There were always several who wanted to be with family and young children. I covered for them because I could and I knew it would be a better holiday for everyone.

When My son and his SO and my daughter and SIL live within 20 miles of me.

Go - Catch your flight or get on the highway. I save one day vacation with an easy day at the office and everyone gets to go home
