(63,221 posts)That is just heartbreaking! Will you get some new puppers soon? I spent my entire holiday mooning over my sister's dog. I was just so in love. I felt kind of bad that I actually preferred her to the people in my life, but she is just my angel.

(14,498 posts)that feeling from stepping in dog shit in the middle of the night when you get up to go pee......
Seriously, I've been pup-free for much too long and thinking about getting one for my son and myself after my wife passed away this year. Losing the last two we had was very painful and brought some pause in me for trying again.
I wish you luck when you're ready again.

(8,144 posts)I can think of who universally combine a child-like capacity for enthusiasm and playful spirits, open-heartedness, with incredible bravery and sense of duty towards their protectors. They pull
family members out of harms way, take bullets for us, make excellent soldiers, rescuers, police officers. And what morale boosters!
In return, let us support the no-kill shelter movement, donate to local grassroots dog rescue (the big organizations take the lions share already), and foster, adopt, or volunteer.
I have my differences with my fellow DUers, but so many are dog lovers. Thanks for posting hlthe2b.
PS cats are stars too.
