There are other community health organizations in town. I'd rather work for one of them that the two biggest corporate organizations in the region, who are buying up all the public and private clinics around.

(23,319 posts)Congrats on paying off your student loans, btw! I meant to post the other day but my squirrel brain took me in another direction. I want you to know that I appreciate the love and respect you clearly have for your homeless patients. Theyre fortunate to have you in their corner.

(66,380 posts)There's our rival community health company almost literally across the street (okay, it's a couple of blocks away...). I used to work for them back when I was a Medical Assistant. I know the CEO personally, and he really wants me to come work for them. The problem is, their financial situation is always precarious. They probably couldn't pay me what I'm earning right now. But I'm willing to trade some $$$ for things like more paid time off, and more control over my clinic schedule.
We'll see what happens...

(5,128 posts)What if you talked to the CEO about taking over finances so it could be sustainable? You get security, more control, and the respect you deserve.

(66,380 posts)I'm a roll-up-my-sleeves medical clinician.
My longevity with my current company gives me a certain pull. But admin is known to be especially stubborn. They are notorious in the local medical community for their intractability. One of my instructors in P.A. School used to work for them, and compares them to the Mafia.
The crosstown rivals are much more amenable. Plus, my old P.A. mentor still works there. He's an administrator now. I have no doubt they'd roll out the red carpet for me. I just don't think they can afford me...
