(22,154 posts)room if you did show the wasp here on DU (ha ha!). Hopefully the swelling will go down soon, and that HE won't have any later side effects. Wow...

(28,829 posts)All he says is its throbby.
The pic is actually 24 hours later. It was worse. 🥴

(28,829 posts)What I meant is he refused to say it hurts.
He such a man.

(22,154 posts)too. I got to say thanks for the OUCH post (and his ack no pain, no gain, eh?).
My grandmother did have a thing when we as kids got stung by those red wasps in the country one sees (in the US, Ozarks), she would make a paste w/ baking soda and put onto the sting site. It would help surprisingly enough. Of course ice packs do the job too.
Take care, both of you!

(28,829 posts)I have tried it and found it worked. Sometimes. Maybe it depends on the person or the sting.
SWBTATTReg
(22,154 posts)that I get all of the time, it's good for cleaning greasy pans, etc. (as you know), and now stings! Take care.

(19,565 posts)She'd hear one buzzing away and take off on a mission to snack it up. I don't know how she was never stung.

(34,136 posts)Dad said the first thing she did was divorce him - she took her wedding ring off for the first time since they got married, about forty years before. Good thing, since her hand was so swollen, they probably would have had to cut the ring off to save her finger.
When she died, the ring was almost worn through. 67 years of wearing a ring will do that.

(19,565 posts)Which is always worse to me. I can sleep through the painful part, but the darn itch wakes me up over and over again.
