does anyine work the daily jumble?
today's answer dealt with presidential pets. the first cats to live in the white house were tabby and dixie. their human said "dixie is smarter than my whole cabinet."
who was he? bonus. those were not actually the first cats to live in the white house. which president was really the first to have felines in the white house?

2. sorry, polly
want to try 3 more guesses?
Madison had a parrot named "polly." do you think that became the most popular parrot name ever? birds were very popular with the early presidents. |

3. I am at a loss. Clinton had Socks.
Could it be one of the Roosevelts, T or F. Madison had a parrot named Polly. He is my new favorite President.

5. 6 down, 39 tries left.
the first cats I could find were martin van buren's tigers, but I guess the jumble guys aren't counting them.
Rutherford b hayes had "siam," the first Siamese in the usa and "miss pussy," also Siamese. Gerald ford had a Siamese "shan," and amy carter had a pair of siamese. one of mine, little "lotus blossom" sure looks Siamese, but I found her in my yard when she was so small that I took her to my wife and asked her "what do baby possums eat." tabby and dixie were among Lincoln's numerous pets. I don't know if horses could be considered "pets," then or now. |

4. Wait, wait, I have one more guess.
Who had the crummiest cabinet. Who chose his adversaries. Abe? Say yes, I am right. James, Polly wants a cracker. 🦜
