I haven't liked handshaking for awhile.

Before he became our governor, I talked to Jared Polis at a dinner. He shook my hand and it HURT! I know it was my arthritis, and he was just giving me a firm handshake, and i do hate limp handshakes.

I try to avoid them altogether.

5. Cultural differences

I’ve been thinking about cultural differences in greetings. In Japan, people bow to each other and rarely shake hands. In Thailand, people greet each other with the “wai” and rarely touch. In Chile, it’s a big hug and a faux kiss on each cheek. I wonder if that’s going to change.
