Knocked silly by my anesthesia...and it was outpatient surgery...

and it was last Thursday.

I had a medtronics device, meant for control of nerve pain, removed from my back by the doc who inserted it originally. This gizmo was hard to use, had to be charged regularly, and I never understood fully how to use it. I only had it implanted because I couldn't afford Lyrica. Now I have the generic Pregabalin and it works fine. It does have a dulling effect on my system, tho, and I don't take it right before I need to drive.

I was told I'd be awake, altho given a drug to relax me, during the surgery. However, I was, for all intents and purposes, just out.

Everything is fine but I am still recovering. I made the mistake of overdoing it (I am the caregiver for a partially handicapped husband) a day later. And I am old (turned 80 in September). I'm in great shape for my age, I am told. My pre-op showed me to be fit.

The reason for all this? I need an MRI and I can't have that with the implant. Simple as that.
