I'm listening to audiobooks on You Tube, have the radio on, and playing FreeCell. I am thinking of things I can do. I have 300 antique padlocks and about 200 need to be matched to keys, which I also have. I have a number of old deep wooden frames, thinking about making some 3D displays of antiques in the frames, to exercise my creativity and maybe clean out some of the endless boxes and drawers of stuff I have in my house. I don't really want to do housework, but if I must

In the kitchen, I will make bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos, and some low carb California rolls (using shirataki rather than rice) But not today. I made okra chili the other day, and grilled chicken yesterday, don't want to get too far ahead.

Please provide a channel or two that you like.
I found one about a month ago but when I started listening, I realized that the audiobooks left things out.

9. Make sure book is unabridged

I have found that audiobooks are accurate representations of actual books. I have been listening to them for nearly 30 years.

For Youtube you can do searches and find a lot (probably some that shouldn't be out there since they are still under copyright). You may find amateur readings of out of copyright classics as well (just google the author).

In addition you local library might have either Overdrive or Hoopla. Both are excellent sources for audiobooks. Hoopla in particular is amazing with its content.


Librivox has out of copyright books read by amateurs. It is also another great source for audiobooks

If you have a Kindle tablet (and probably other ways). Many (maybe most) Kindle books in your Amazon library can be read by the Kindle in computer voice (it is actually pretty good). Many classics are available free on the Amazon Kindle website.

It allows you to use your Smartphone instead of downloading an MP3 file. I haven't used it. I am actually banking MP3 audiobooks for the apocalypse in three different locations using Overdrive. I don't think Libby will let you do that.

Try your state library too. I use my city/county library, the state library and some other libraries in your state that might take your library card. My husband gave me my Audible subscription so I order books with my credit each month and save them in case I can't find what I want in the library because it is checked out. I find the books online (Overdrive works so well) added to those I get with my credit and podcasts keep me busy listening as I do my chores outside and inside. I have never used YouTube for books, I didn't know they had that!! Try downloading podcasts, there are some wonderful podcasts to listen to.

10. I'm listening to Silver Age English mysteries

Ngaio Marsh, Inspector Alleyn. Agatha Christie, Lord Peter Whimsey. I used to collect first edition mystery books, loved reading them. Most of the Ngaio Marsh are new to me, its been so long since I read any Agatha Christie mysteries, and I had fun revisiting Lord Peter. I looked for vintage English mysteries, then looked for specific authors or characters.

There is a web site called gutenburg.org: http://www.gutenberg.org/ which has free audiobooks, classics. I prefer You Tube, because the books I've listened Gutenburg are divied by chapter and you have to download each chapter and then move from one to another as you listen.

You can download free old radio shows from otr.org and there is a huge selection, drams, mysteries, comedy, westerns, some sci-fi. Dragnet, with Jack Webb, Gunsmoke with William Conrad as Marshall Dillon.

In Ohio, if you have a library card, you can log in and either reserve books in any format, or listen to audio books. Also research genealogy, other fun things. Opens a lot of doors

I’m currently working on hats that I make to donate to cancer patients. So far I’ve made 10 of them in the last 3 weeks.

I enjoy fooling around with making simple jewelry. Catching up on some reading. Baking. Listening to music while doing all these things. I’m not much of a TV or movie watcher, although I’ll do that before I do any housework. And of course the computer.... what would we ever do without the Internet!

Getting outside to exercise with my dog every day is a must. For both of us.....

I spent so much time onlime, my eyes were too tired to read, so i listened to the shows on otr (old time radio) Really passed the time. For some reason, I love the eras of 1920-50s and love the pop culture of the time

It would be a damn tough virus that could run down a car.

There is a beautiful state park a few miles from my home with tens of miles of trails through pristine forests along a beautiful river. In good times you can walk for hours without meeting anyone else. It would not be at all difficult to maintain a safe distance from other hikers. (check out Torreya State Park, Bristol, Fl.)

I have never had a problem with boredom. My biggest problem is finding time for all of the things that I either need to do, or want to do at home. If I lived in an urban or suburban setting it would be very difficult to hunker down at home. There is only so much Kindle, computer or TV I can take. That is exactly why I chose a rural setting after decades of urban and suburban living in the never-ending quest for the almighty dollar. If you don't need Starbucks and the mall, there is a lot to be said for "Green Acres" living.

12. I've been cycling through Paris lately

I bought an exercycle and set it up in front of the TV to watch cycling videos of places I cannot go.

There are lots of these videos online.

Also reorganizing closets, cooking and freezing meals, and playing guitar. As an introvert, I am kind of enjoying it, but worried about others who are more exposed than me.

Hats off and kudos to all those who are still working in retail, fast food, healthcare, etc. You are never far from my thoughts and prayers.

Just farm chores, I need to stay away from people. I have lungs that have been challenged and failed too many times. My husband goes out only if we need something. My oldest son lives about 65 miles from here. He works where he lives playing gigs but those are drying up right now and he works daily close to us so he has decided to move in temporarily to cut down on gasoline use and save some money. I would be no fun to be sick alone at home and we are happy to have him here from time to time. Very happy. My youngest we will likely never know what he is doing.

we bought these in 2015. We sold a few on ebay, gave a few to interested relatives. I think there were 336, and there are still around 300. About 100 were matched to keys. I've matched about 22 keys to locks. Better than a puzzle

When we got the locks, we got a lot of keys and I had a lot of keys for another reason. I found and joined a terrific padlock site and everyone was really helpful. I learned a lot.

We put a railroad padlock on eBay, sold it, shipped it, got the money, got positive feedback. A few weeks later ebay contacted us and said we weren't allowed to sell railroad locks on ebay. Security. I don't use it any more.

switching tracks. There is a way to list them now without mentioning rail roads. A loop hole. For a while I was doing well making necklaces out of small cabinet keys. Bought bunch of neck chains like they use for dog tags in bulk so they ended up about 20 cents each and put a small key on each one. I should start that up again.

Would you like to come visit? I hate painting with a passion. I will prep it for you, and buy the best paint available. In the last year, I painted or papered the whole inside of my house. (the only thing worse than painting is hanging wallpaper) Before the weather gets too hot, I need to paint the outside. The exterior is lap siding and it is labor intensive.

I will say this about painting. I have learned, do not skimp by buying cheap paint. Buy the best stuff made. It is easier to apply by far. What it cost in up-front cost, it saves many times over in labor and longevity. Go to the "Paint Store" not Home Depot for your paint. $65.00/gal paint is a far better bargain than $25.00 paint. While you are there buy good paint brushes and learn how to clean them properly. If you buy a $50.00 or better paint brush and clean it well, it will last a long, long time.

Enjoying my dogs and cats more than ever. Immersing myself in Amazon Prime Video. Just finished Bosch; starting Brokenwood (New Zealand detectives). Reading a couple of books. Doing stuff I have put off, like filing. Monday, I am taking my Great Pyrenees to the groomer and I may make a stop at the grocery store. The only thing we are low on are paper towels. I don’t feel anxious just confused about some of the behavior and decisions being made. My sister is an ICU nurse so she is keeping a watchful eye on us. Stopped listening to the politicians and health experts. They seem to be as confused as I am. I would be more comfortable if more attention were being paid to the elderly with pre-existing lung conditions or compromised immune systems.

57. We're hunkering down in our mountain house for two weeks

We were supposed to go to Amsterdam this coming week but with all the confusion about travel and the virus, we postponed the trip.

We've had lists of projects and improvements, both big and small, that we haven't had the time for. So, we do one or two earlier in the day, crossing them off the endless list.

Each day, around 3:00 pm, we hike down to the Delaware River and enjoy the beauty of nature. Although it's still wintery at about 1,500 feet above sea-level, if you bundle up, it's comfortable. Then we retreat to my music cabin where we build a fire, have a drink, listen to music and play board games: Scrabble, Backgammon, Jenga, The Sailor's Game and the like.

My wife and I are major foodies so we enjoy planning, making and mostly eating our meals! They are serious and fun parts of every day.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the foresight to start stocking up on canned and dried goods, paper products, freezable food, cleaning products and gasoline. Our supplier will fill the propane tank on Tuesday. Following an inventory yesterday, we really don't have to leave the house for about a month. But if we do, the local supermarket is very well-stocked and the only thing missing from their shelves was rubbing alcohol.

We're very fortunate and grateful. It's distressing to think of all the people who don't have the choices and comforts we're blessed with. This pandemic is going to be very damaging to the people of our country and to our society.

..i live in the forest and we just got 6 inches snow ( i had flowers coming last week!)...I have a small deer herd that makes its way to my feeder twice and day and they share the feeder with 6 turkeys..2 maybe 3 are males as they strut about. The whole thing is very entertaining.

I weave pine needle baskets so thats a forced sitting activity and since it doesnt take my mind away from tv I fill those hours with binge watching Doc Martin, Ozzie and Harriet,Halt and Catch Fire, Penny Dreadful and Peaky Blinders...and The Flintstones that I have recorded over the last month Those re all the series I started to watch and then last interest..cept the Flintstones is just cuz i like them.

Been working on fixing up the garage this winter paint, weatherize better, it’s done. Planning out the farmacy, medicinal herbs, new elderberry trees, got ten this time, raspberries need to spread out.
I have new seeds of some of the most used medicinals in the farmacy, yarrow, bee balm, prunella vulgaris, these are the basis of most herbal “teas” I make.

Was scheduled for surgery on the 26th of this month, hip replacement, since it’s elective it may be put off for a while. Although I live in a quite rural area...maybe I can outrun the virus. There’s a dark humor jape in there.

Did you ever read the Euell Gibbons books? I loved them. We had 9 acres in s.e. Ohio and I swear every time I read about a plant, I could go out and find it. I suspected the previous owners planted a lot of the things. I made colt's foot cough syrup, herb carpenter sleeping tea, yarrow and tansy teas, dandelion root coffee, sugared violets (I meant to decorate a cake, but the kids ate them all before I got them on the cake) thanks for the memories.

New season of Vikings and Sabrina to get through, Picard is good so plenty to stream and I would like to play some Ps4 fishing if time allows.

To be clear we are in Spain and as of Monday morning the country is on enforced lockdown so don't

70. I have a bunch of chores to do around the house and prep our "work at home" space for Monday.

I have a full-size freezer and the small ref/freezer that I've cleaned out, organized, and inventoried between last night and today. I'm diabetic, so I'm going to make a bunch of crepes, cauliflower personal pan-sized pizza crust, blanched/spiralized zucchini, and low carb bagels tonight that I can freeze for myself. Everybody else in the house is fine with regular flour.

Other big batch family cooking I have planned to do over several days: mini Mexican meatloaves, teriyaki meatballs, sweet sausage meatballs, italian vegetable soup, spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce and chicken and beef enchilada stuffing, Greek turkey burgers, instapot pulled pork and chicken curry, roast turkey, chili, pastitsio, and beef stew. Most of those I can make a batch for dinner and still have enough to freeze for an additional 1-2 meals. I'm venturing out to the grocery a bit later to get the rest of the supplies for what I have planned and to pick up 2 lbs of polymer clay for me to make jewelry with. had 40 pieces in a show last week that I can't get picked up now because the gallery closed under our state of emergency. I have a ton of old pictures that my daughter and I can go through, sort, use archival pens to make notes on the back, etc. We also have an old projector and some old family movies from my grandparents and parents, me when I was little with our first dog, etc. That may be a fun venture some evening! I can teach my daughter how to knit. We both crotchet, but I'm ahead of her on learning to knit. We also have Zoom meetings scheduled for Vacation Bible School planning. I have a basement and office that are in major need of decluttering. Maybe I should pick up a 10pack of Banker boxes since I'll have a relatively captive work force Over Christmas, I started sorting through my vast collection of cookbooks, getting rid of what I didn't want, taking photos of the recipes I used in those books before sending them to Goodwill. Those photos need to have keywords assigned and indexed.

My workday hours will be spent testing and adding accessibility to our work website and payment forms. Word is that my husband and I and both of our departments will be working from home until we're told we won't be. We both work at the the University. The total of 'presumptive positive' cases this morning for the state is 6 - every single one of them were in contact with that first case, an Engineering professor. Apparently there are still about 20 outstanding tests that haven't come back yet.

We'll be having from 3-5 in our house most days for meals and games, etc. I count my son and his GF as one since they're kind of glued together at the hip I can't see him limiting his time with his GF.

Düsseldorf is 5000 miles from Dallas, so "home" is relative.

I am currently stuck in Madrid because *#%/(&%$§*! Iberia airlines' 50 minute flight from Barcelona to Madrid was two and a half hours late, and I missed my 7:55 PM connection back to Düsseldorf. Supposedly I'm on a flight tomorrow morning, and if I'm lucky, I'll be exempted from the quarantine the Germans just imposed on all passengers coming to Germany from Madrid. I have to hope they accept that I was in transit, and never went into town.

they lost his luggage. We lived in a town where they'd bring it, so when they found it, it came to our house. He had to drive 50 miles to pick it up.

116. This is my first day home alone

I’m in the vulnerable demographic and have a mild respiratory thing going, so plan to totally isolate for at least the next two weeks. Fortunately I stocked up on essentials before the panic. My son lives with me, but took off yesterday to spend the pandemic playing D&D with his cousins. He’s planning to stay there for the duration, so I really am all by myself.

So far today, I’ve:

Watched Frozen II.

Made an over elaborate apple Dutch baby for breakfast.

Started a pandemic-themed book.

Started a Marie Kondo style declutter by piling all my clothes on a bed. This may have been a mistake.
