The store (the local Giant in Northern VA) was very well stocked compared to my last two trips there over the past two weeks.
Still zero paper products, but the milk and meat cases were full. Butter, tea bags, and coffee selections were spotty. There was still enough left of random brands and odd sizes to get a bit of each. No flour, at all, and the sugar supply was getting very low.
Over all, a huge improvement from when I was in there last Monday. Mom and Dad are now fully stocked.
Big thanks to all the grocery store employees and truck drivers for working their asses off to keep the shelves stocked.

(25,183 posts)Kroger had a giant pallet of sugar right in the middle of the floor between the produce wall and the back wall, where the meat department is, so I picked up one 4lb. bag. They had a fair amount of meats, dairy and produce, although there was little to no chicken. Of course, paper products are gone.

(4,607 posts)Its been sold out for weeks. I work in the restaurant business (seafood, particularly) and have been gradually loading our home freezers with fish, shrimp, and scallops from work. Some crabmeat, too. I was lucky to be able to order a flat of bacon through my work, plus eggs and paper products. Weve been selling the heck out of our fried chicken for carryout, so there has been none to spare. As long as the food service companies keep delivering, my family, friends, and coworkers will be okay on most supplies- an unexpected perk of being a lowly restaurant worker.
Glad to hear you got stocked up! Stay safe.

(25,183 posts)My diabetes medication was not available at the Kroger pharmacy, and the shipment they have coming tomorrow had the medication pulled from the store's order. I will have to call in daily to get some, the fortunate thing is that there is a drive-through window there that I just noticed for the first time.
I hope I can still get this; as it is refrigerated, I can only get a four week supply at a time.

Things looked OK this morning, in southern MD, and few customers.
Produce OK, ice cream available but not FULL. Fresh shrimp looked great, so got some (steamed.)

And it was Senior Discount Day!
Made sure to thank the checker for being there.
