One 80's song I'm really tired of is Footloose....Sirius XM 80's on 8 plays it to death, and regular pop stations play it to death...It was ok after the first 5,000 times...But its getting old at 5,000,000,000 times. lol..

My username is in reference to the song, but I love the TV show, as well.

(25,512 posts)Would have to travel to Europe now to see them, but don't think that's going to happen. They're still touring and selling out venues (they were, anyway, until CV) - as I recall, they've toured every year but one since the late 1960s. Pretty good for a bunch of old guys.

I remember the days when MTV actually played videos, now, it's ALL shows and no music...

I'm kinda hard-pressed to identify songs from the 80s, because I didn't pay much attention to music then, and kinda had to catch up later. Rush put out a lot of good music then, as did Metallica, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, and U2, but I was a little turned off by most of the New Wave stuff, and rap was crap, IMHO (YMMV); same with hip-hop. By the mid-90s, I had pretty much given up on the music of the time (with a few rare exceptions), and these days, I pretty much stick to listening to the classic rock of the 60s & 70s. Damn good times, and you kids stay off my lawn!

(27,223 posts)1. We Built this City on Rock and Roll - Starship or whatever the hell they were calling themselves that week. Worst piece of dreck, maybe EVER
2. Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money (makes me want to close my legs forever)
3. Anything by Phil Collins, but especially Sussudio or whatever that abomination was. I think Phil Collins is a gifted musician and producer, but I can't stand his solo work.
Hawaii Hiker
(3,166 posts)1. Bob & Doug McKenzie - Take Off (probably the worst song in the history of civilization)
2. B-52's - Love Shack
3. Prince - Batdance
4. Milli Vanilli - Blame it on the Rain
5. Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry be Happy
Was an awesome album. Me and Sarah Jane. The title song. Also LOVED Follow You, Follow Me and Hold You Like China.
