He served as an Infantry Platoon Leader in Vietnam and I served in the same position in Iraq. I always felt a certain kinship with him because of that. I looked up to him as an example how one can overcome the experience of war and still be a productive and valuable person in society.

Seeing a guy like him survive and thrive 40+ after his war showed me that I could do the same.

He wasn’t all talk when it came to making the world a better place, he volunteered and improved the community he lived in. If I’m not mistaken, he worked with local youth to build homes for the disadvantaged. I’ve heard many stories of his generosity and great heart.

Pinboy and I had a few off site discussions about my Viet Nam vet husband, so I always looked for his posts and puns. He was involved with the traveling VN wall exhibit if I remember correctly. He was a real man. And could sling a pun better than anyone I've seen!

Whenever I see someone post something exceptionally clever, I think of him.

His wit was unequalled, that's for sure! I got into a couple of "pun wars" with him, but he was unquestionably THE master!

RIP, Pinboy3niner! We loved ya!

He was a gouda guy. His brilliant/terrible puns got my goat many times. He was a muenster of a punster.
