TV shows that aren't on anymore (not counting Roku, etc.) that you wish were still on.

I get my TV over the air. No Roku or equivalent, at least not yet.

I used to love Heartland. It was Beverly Hills 20210, but with in Alberta, and with horses.re

Back in the '90s, there was a wonderful show called Beauty and the Beast. I miss that too.

I would also like for the original Star Trek to be around, but the main story line would have to include that a universal contagion had killed everyone under 85.

The others centered around aviation that come to mind are of that same era, The Whirlybirds and RipCord. It was a time when there were actually interesting ideas being tried as opposed to just another cop show or version of a cop show which we have today.

Preview of the Jason Bourne series of movies.

Plot details

Frank Converse's character (called "Gigot" in the first episode), is told by a woman and two men that they know what he is up to, after which they drug him and dump him in the river. He manages to pull himself ashore and the only words he says are "Coronet Blue". One visual clue as to where Converse's character got that phrase from was a sign on a nightclub he was in immediately before he was attacked: "The Blue Coronet". Suffering from amnesia due to the effects of the drug, he soon discovers that he has been targeted for assassination by the same mysterious group of killers. He adopts the name "Michael Alden," a combination of the name of his doctor and the name of the hospital where he was taken to recover. Over the remaining episodes he attempts to discover his identity and the identities of his assailants, whom he refers to as "Greybeards". The series ended before the solution to these mysteries was revealed, but series creator Larry Cohen later told his biographer:

"The actual secret is that Converse was not really an American at all. He was a Russian who had been trained to appear like an American and was sent to the U.S. as a spy. He belonged to a spy unit called 'Coronet Blue.' He decided to defect, so the Russians tried to kill him before he could give away the identities of the other Soviet agents. And nobody could really identify him because he didn't exist as an American. Coronet Blue was actually an outgrowth of 'The Traitor' episode of The Defenders."[1]

poor. Kind of a little man vs. corporate greed theme. It was very well done, subtle comedy and not the sloppy predictable type of shows that are on TV. It hasn't been in production for quite a few years. You can google Leverage and watch trailers to get an idea.

The one thing I like about both shows is that the women are portrayed as strong and empowered.

I posted this down thread, because I didn't see your mention... (Glad you are back here, BTW)...

A binge recommendation for everybody during these times... "Kings" from 2009... Starring Ian McShane, Sebastian Stan, and many others. This was an early HD show on NBC, before its time.... If it were an HBO offering, it would have many seasons by now... "Kings" was a modern retelling of the biblical story of David, set in an alternate universe NYC, called "Shiloh"...

Anyway... This show is sublime... The art direction is perfect... The score is amazing... The dialogue is pure poetry... Every word spoken is crafted and delivered meticulously and intentionally... And, if you've ever lived NYC you will appreciate the location shots... Columbus Circle, the Apthorp Hotel, etc.

Plus it has one of the absolute best courtroom drama scenes ever...

Unfortunately, NBC didn't market this show at all, and decided to bury it from the get-go because of the religious overtones. A shame, but the first season has a very satisfying ending after only 13 episodes. I am not religious at all, but this story is worth watching.

You can watch "Kings" on iTunes or the NBC streaming app. I haven't been able to find an official trailer, but this fan trailer gives a taste...

A very short lived show w/ a supernatural story line. I loved it, but it ended abruptly.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/666_Park_Avenue

666 Park Avenue focuses on Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor) and her partner Henry Martin (Dave Annable), the new co-managers of the Drake residential hotel, located at 999 Park Avenue. The Drake is owned by mysterious billionaire couple Gavin (Terry O'Quinn) and Olivia Doran (Vanessa Williams). The plot follows both Jane and Henry, and the other residents of the Drake who live in the shadow of the dark supernatural forces of the Drake and its owner.[
