I'll go gritty with Junior Wells' "Hoodoo Man Blues", w/ Buddy Guy on guitar, Magic Sam's "West Side Soul" for a fresh take, or anything by Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers for sheer exuberance.

B.B.King is fine with me, but I'll take my blues raw.

I spent ten years listening to practically nothing but blues recordings. From original delta blues from the 30s to modern Chicago electric blues.

I was at a concert at Red Rocks in Colorado in the 80s that had quite a lineup... Bobby Blue Bland, Albert King, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Quite an evening.

My idiot ex-brother walked out on Stevie Ray, muttering something about him being "no Jimi Hendrix."

I've always been curious about how white bluesmen get to blues instead of country, rockabilly or blue grass?
