(16,377 posts)2. I've had two deaf rescues. One is still with me at 15.
Communication was never a problem. My first deafie, a heeler/Aussie mix, knew close to 30 signs. My current deafie knows about half that. You simply train with sign instead of voice. I also recommend training hearing doggos with sign as well as voice because many dogs go deaf in old age. I also have my first hearing rescue in 30 years. I love her to death, but i don't think I'll ever adopt another dog with functional hearing; they bark too much. I got so spoiled with my deaf girls.

(9,952 posts)3. Right. I use both hand and mouth with most my communication anyway. But allows me to just use
hand at times. I love the video though.
