We have free curbside pickup of spring and fall lawn debris in my little town in Maine.
Everyone got the town email and was busily raking the winter's leavings to the curb this weekend.
My much younger neighbors were worried about me - they hadn't seen me "outside and alive" in a while.
They were proud that they had scored 150 cans of Chef Boyardee Beefaroni for $0.54 a can - and asked me if I needed any.
I told them I was fine with food but my six-pack of Corona Extra got its last lime a week ago.
The dude works at the local (and great) House of Pizza and is selling every one of them "twice" on the phone - they run out by 3 PM every day and shut down until they can make more dough.
I told them I was a "strategic planner" and started planning for a pay check drought between Christmas and the first week in Feb - back in August.
I froze all my garden crop and took advantage of $0.88 meat specials back in December (I don't eat a lot of meat - but it was way cheaper than veggie burgers!).
I had enough fuel oil and propane to last until warm weather.
I told them I started planning for the coronavirus back in December.
Then I told them I was fasting to spare supplies and lose weight - they were horrified!
They jumped in their car - and came back with a 30 pack of Nat Light ("we didn't know what you liked!).
I told them they didn't have to do that - but if it was beer - it was OK with me!
If I can get my garden in and have a good crop - I will share with them.
There are good people out there - be one of them!
(and send me another 30 pack )

He said - nothing - but "Mr. Boston"
He got "side eye" from SO.
