The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHuge DU hug please
The SO is avoiding finding out the results of his scan last week. As he avoids anxiety and facts and shit I am in a high level of anxiety. This morning I thought he was dead. His breathing was so shallow alongside a deep sleep, that I actually slapped him awake. I was not popular for a minute
But as he avoids what the plan needs to be to try and save his arse, I am not Florence Nightingale, but trying my hardest, part of the equation needs of huge virtual hug. Please.
EDIT: This has been the best virtual hug ever. Thank you all very much. It has really lifted my spirits and some great advice.

(26,257 posts)if nothing is wrong, then the worrying could be literally over nothing?
If not, at least you know what's going on, which is by far the better choice, and the stress of the unknown will abate and you can concentrate on getting better.
My best wishes for the both of you.

(1,753 posts)how my hubby deals with his late stage liver disease ... he thinks he's saving me from the truth about how sick he really is. He's a Dr. so I know he knows. I've learned, over time, to be OK with his decision. I'm sorry for your constant fear of losing him at any time ... I have the same reaction when his breathing is short and often intermittent. And - I know there will come a day...

I've been there, so here's one from me (and I almost never, never, never ever do emoticons, but don't think you're damn special or anything):
And, you'd better not tell anyone either, because you know, I've got a rep to keep up.

(33,348 posts)Some men are really good at denial which makes it really hard for SO's who just want to face facts and make a plan. The denial makes dealing with it harder.
So, hugs for having to deal with the illness and more hugs for having to deal with the denial.
