Especially when frozen in a 1/2 gallon freezer bag. Then shifted enough & shoved back in as I was the only one eating it.
I had made a large pot of split pea with ham just after the Thanksgiving dinner with the ham leftovers. Very good batch but my family wasn't interested.
Then the damn thing fell from the top door freezer onto my toe in the wee of the morning. Damn near broke it.
I was going metal detecting that morning and the park had a homeless camp in the woods nearby. I packed the soup-about 2 gallons-in a sturdy bag & made a note offering it free. Left it on a park bench near the front & went detecting.

Later I saw a older lady who had just gone by coming back with the bag & noticeable smile on her face. Made me glad and my toe was also thankful the dangerous soup was gone from the freezer.

I had seen her before & I just can't imagine. Very cold that day & the area gets freezing rain. Just last year they dozed them out & well-it is getting much worse I'm sure.

Freezer too filled.
Big spaghetti sauce jar (you know, I save them and refill them) of frozen soup fell out. Fortunately, my foot was between it and the floor, so it didn't break.
Unfortunately.... owwww.

(53,410 posts)raid the refrigerator in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. She would take things out of the freezer and try to rip them apart. Frozen food would fall out and almost hit her bare feet and since we couldnt stop her we ended up putting a chain around the freezer part so she couldnt open it. We would wake up at night with the chain rattling.
We always made sure there was food she could get. We did have to be very vigilant after we caught her opening the oven while it was on and reaching in to grab the food. We caught her just in time so she wouldnt burn her hand. Phew! It got scary sometimes! But we did real well keeping her safe.
