half great pyrenees, but thankfully half short hair dogs.
flat out worst puppy i ever raised. i have been doing good dog training since i took my first dog to classes at 23, 40 yrs and a dozen dogs ago. he is my 8th pup.
his name was punky until he was 2. shredded 2 couches, ditto a 2 roomfuls of lay flat vinyl floor. ate a basket of dirty clothes, one item at a time. killed 6 chickens. ate all but the pelvis, gizzard and one leg and a handful of feathers of the 1st. which i found tucked btn the mattresses of my double twin/king bed. worse, it was my fave chicken. worst, she was grey, and i have an african grey that taunts the dog. almost had a stroke.
the rest he just tore up. including a huge barred rock rooster who thought he was bigger than he was. but he must have been big enough to make a point, cuz that boy was the last.
sent him for a lot of training. and was in poor health those 2 years, so we spent a lot of time curled up taking naps.
then he turned 2, and boy howdy. now radar because nothing, and i mean nothing, gets by him, including stuff that happens in my garden, which is on the other side of a building from my house.
we were together in some past life. and we meant something to each other. and he was some kind of samurai. i said from the time he became radar that he was convinced his mission was to kill for me. maybe he failed to do that in our last turn of the wheel.
but i have never been so attached to a dog, nor felt so safe.
