Do any of you happen to know someone who works for UPS in Texas? I'm specifically looking for a UPS manager in Dallas, Mesquite or Lone Star, TX...but would welcome any UPS manager in TX willing to talk to me. Long story short, I shipped a custom built wooden crate to a customer in Dallas that has come up missing. This crate is distinctive...it isn't a random cardboard box. The item inside this crate cannot easily be replaced. UPS is telling me it is lost and wants to write a check and be done with it.
The last physical scan of the crate was in Lone Star, TX on 8/22/20 and the crate should have then traveled to Mesquite, TX and gone out for delivery from there. UPS's "logical scan" (their term) tracking shows it in Mesquite but there isn't any physical proof that it actually made it there. My local UPS account rep is not getting anywhere on this. UPS account reps are not given peer to peer contact information within the company. My customer is being so patient and kind...he knows this isn't my fault and at the same time he is very disappointed. His pleasant demeanor over this makes me want to work that much harder to find this crate.
I know it is a long shot that one of you can help me...but you never know. Thanks in advance.

ETA - The # ending in 9000 is a UPS Store but the guy there did answer and he told me that the hub wouldn't answer till after 4:30pm. I'll try back.
Again, Thanks 2na.

(86,577 posts)At least it's a contact to start with. Didn't know if that would be of any help. There were email addresses too that I didn't copy from the google search. Just search for UPS, Lone Star, TX and you'll get the results I did.

(23,313 posts)And, I also found out that there are warehouses of lost packages at UPS. Sigh. This is our second one in TX in a month. The first one was replaceable. This one isn't. I'm hoping against hope it can be located. Thanks again!!

(86,577 posts)Same area of Texas? Just wondering if there's something weird going on.
MontanaMama
(23,313 posts)That's about 2 hours away from Longview. I don't know if the Longview hub services the McKinney hub or not. 2 hours distance isn't anything at all, at least by MT standards.

(86,577 posts)I wonder if they are getting lost on purpose.
I had a delivery go to the wrong apartment in my complex a year or so ago and they told me to go get it from the neighbors. I called above their heads and demanded they go get them and deliver to the correct address. They did but the driver put them outside my door and never knocked or anything, I was kind of uncomfortable about how that all went down so I stopped using them. But I don't have a business with shipping needs.

(23,313 posts)and going back to Fedex. None of them are perfect...but I have to battle additional handling charges every single week when I pay their bills. None of my packages fit the official UPS criteria for Additional Handling. Not one. I battle them all and haven't had to pay one yet but the time it takes to fight them is ridiculous.
UPS often delivers items to us for the bowling alley a block south of us and vice versa.
Thanks for talking to me and kicking my thread!! I figure nothing but good can come of folks seeing it.
