Oh, how I laughed. I saw the Little Women movie for the first time last night and was curious

enough to read up on every sister's profile because it was not exactly how I remembered it. I learned about the author's family connection to Thoreau and Emerson, which explained why the book was cutting edge for its time. Though I remember when I read it as a child, I didn't quite see it as a feminist movie. It was just a story about a family of four girls, all looking to do the right thing in their own way.

But this new adaption, I found interesting as a time piece, and, I swear, I was wondering this morning if writing a story like that in this day and age would capture anyone's attention. And this afternoon I came across this riot of a series on Acorn-tv called "Raised by Wolves," and I thought to myself, Well damn, there it is! A British version of Little Women! Though they're a very financially strapped family, they are very in tune with the literary world and current events.

I had to keep the captions on for the first few episodes because the repartee is quick and the accent is thick.

But, well worth a watch.
