I made a backup of a document that I left open on my laptop and went out side to do a chore that easily took 20 minutes. On my return, down on the windows bar there was an icon I had never seen before. I don't even remember what it looked like because my attention was taken up by something else. But I can tell you that running the cursor over it, it said "Microsoft Upload."
Whaaattt?
I don't ever use the one drive to back up a document. So I don't know why this Microsoft Upload showed up.

It's automatic now-- I'm always surprised at things getting uploaded. I think you can turn it off.

(25,471 posts)2. Microsoft Office Upload Center was included in some versions of Office.
It's often configured to run automatically. You can disable it:
