The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI went to my first restaurant since February today.
I met a couple from my sister's town in Florida who recently moved to my area. They are die-hard Democrats and don't know a soul here besides a family member. We sat inside and had a couple of beers. Lovely people. We were the only three people besides waitstaff inside because all of the outside seats were taken, plus it was still a touch warm out. We kept far apart and kept our masks on between sips of beer. It felt good to get out and I'm glad I went, even though I probably won't be doing anything like that again soon. I mention it because after just two half-pint beers I was more than a little tipsy. The place was only a block from my house, so I walked home and took a nap. I need to drink more, LOL.

(1,160 posts)I live in Florida too, but I think it's insane to go to a restaurant right now. Inside?
PS: are you joking?

(16,387 posts)I had trepidation, too.
They moved from Tallahassee to Thornton, CO, a few miles from here. We had a nice chat and have a lot in common. This was my first purely social interaction since it all started and it will be my last for a while.
