Stand to 100% on alert here and we have monsters Duncan pup

What is Duncan twenty weeks old. Sitting on back steps with golden retriever pup , he is leaning into me with a chew bone in his mouth. Peering into the darkness as he hears noises. He will let out a growl and move in to me closer , I rub him and ask do we have monsters. Ok we’re not at 100% stand to boog is snoring next to me.

Duncan - you know man we do have monsters man. The grass eating monster ( lawnmower) the rooster monster that chases me. And monsters we haven’t seen yet although we can hear them.

Maybe I should hit army surplus and pick up some antique NODS night optics that we used a 100 years ago in infantry. For boog the chocolate lab Duncan and the man. Night optics would give us that edge on those monsters that we cannot see in the dark.

...Sylvia and Emma will go big game hunting way out in the yard at 0 dark 30 and all I can do is stand in my jammies at the door and holler at them to 'leave it'..which Im sure my neighbors hear over the barking.

I dont dare go out and grab them..as IF I could haul them in by their collars. Cougar, poop and a yard that resembles a mogul run keeps me from running out there in the dark anyway.

Im at the age where I just need a bunch of cats..

His 3 am perimeter patrols and bark-a-thons (warning shots to the coyotes, deer, possums) don’t go over so well anymore. No neighbors where we live but if we are getting a good night’s sleep these days we really can use it.
