(14,855 posts)... YEARS ago during my honeymoon. It was decent, but I missed most of it because my wife starting running toward the exit and I chased after her, pleading for her to calm down.
It was HER idea to go in there. More money wasted during our visit. Lol.

(14,855 posts)She was terrified by it, and I guess that's what she wanted. I wanted to look at more details of their handiwork in there. Lol.
I looked it up. It was called "Mysterious Mansion".

(9,188 posts)When we got to the chainsaw massacre scene they both decided to leave going backwards through me. Fortunately, they were both small women, and as Leatherface kept hitting me in the ass with the chainsaw (that hurts even without the chain), I picked them up under each arm and hopped until I could turn the corner.

(9,188 posts)It was three stories, ending in the attic. You exited by way of an enclosed slide that deposited you in the basement up against hay bales. They demolished the house about 20 years ago.

(90,776 posts)From the moment you entered the house, there was only one path out and you had to figure it out. The entire time it felt like someone was right behind you.
Uneven floors, mirrored walls, with bars from floor to ceiling that had to be moved in a certain order to get through.
Scary sounds, scary people walking about, dark with flickering lights, to strobe lights, to pitch black.
Walls that opened up and monsters coming out. Doors that locked behind you. A arm coming out of nowhere and brushing your hair, your shoulders, grabbing your arm.
It was truly scary and oh, so much fun.

(4,858 posts)...an old house foundation in the woods north of town was haunted by the ghost of a woman who lived there when the house was still standing. The lady in question was the sister of my great-great grandmother, so we had kind of a family interest in the place, you might say. And again, supposedly, on clear, windy fall nights you could hear the poor lady weeping for a lover who never returned to her. (I seem to recall that he was a Civil War soldier who died...) I went there on fall nights once or twice, but never heard any weeping, alas. In the event, the whole area was bulldozed in the 80s to make a housing development, so it's someone else's problem now...

(7,637 posts)That I visited a haunt event for Halloween, I can't really deal with the noise anymore. I guess it's true that if it's too loud, you're too old.
I was a regular every year at The Haunted Castle & Black Forest in Ft. Wayne, IN. They change it up every year.
I got a chance once to visit a haunt event at The Homer Mills Grist Mill in Homer, MI. This event was endorsed by Alice Cooper . Sadly, the entire building was lost in a devastating fire some years ago.
