I am making a full sized feast that usually feeds 20 for three people

I bought freezer safe sealed and sectioned plates for the leftovers. Ready made microwavable Turkey dinners all December!

I tried to scale it back for 3, but it was
goddamned depressing .

I am going to retreat into an illusory reality tomorrow., you guys have a great Thanksgiving. Always be the most thankful for the things that you miss the most.

There will be only 2 at our Thanksgiving dinner: me and my beloved husband.

I'm scaling it back a little, but I do love turkey leftovers, and gravy and mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie make great eating after Thanksgiving!

My thoughts will be with our families and friends who are far away.

Plus sides, fresh baked bread, and dessert.

It's just 4 from my household and our son and his so. Not a huge gathering, and we will socially distance.

But we will be sending lots of leftovers out the door and into the freeer.........

I grew up in an ethnic household. The call at every gathering was "EAT!!!!".

Oh well. It will get eaten.

Our cats don't like people food. They won't touch fresh cooked turkey. Go figure.

Our dogs ashes are turning over in his box on the mantle........

The 18 lb. bird I bought this summer for $0.99 a pound gets to stay in the freezer for the time being.

Instead of cooking for 17 people, ages from toddler to over 90, my wife and I are cooking for 3. Her, me and her father.

Got the smallest we could find. Cooking the whole shebang for husband and me. My daughter is working so will stop by at 9 pm to pick up a LOT of leftovers so she can eat for the next 3 days or so. I may do up some TV dinners also. And then lots of sandwiches, which we love. So football, turkey, Macy's parade. All good. Kinda glad I didn't have to have my usual guests and have to set the fancy table, dress up, etc. It is just different this year and that is OK. Goofy repub friend is actually going to a buffet at a restaurant up in Wisconsin (too cold to eat outside, of course) and thinks that is perfectly fine. YIKES. One of her daughters/sons-in-law currently HAS Covid because of this very behavior. What does it take to get these people's attention anyway? So HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all.

in cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I made pies and dressing which my daughter picked up yesterday. She and her husband are are doing turkey and sides at her house. My youngest son is bringing more sides and desserts. They are going fix dinner boxes to be picked up or delivered to the rest of the family. My granddaughter will pick my dinner up along with hers and leave it on my porch.

So, it's going to be a strange, long distance holiday. I look forward to the vaccine being available so we can start getting back to normal.

I'm smoking the turkey tonight. My wife and her sister are cooking everything else. Individual meals will be prepared and delivered to the family to eat at home.

We will be thankful for being healthy and everyone doing their best to stay that way.

I used to cook for around 20 people but the kids friends have moved on and their parents and my relatives are all gone. There were to be 4 of us but now it is just 3. I have cooked everything I can early so I can get my chores done and get a meal on the table in the afternoon. China and crystal but not silver. Still at 2:00 even though we are all here together already. A 20 pound turkey. Stuffing made from 6 loaves of homemade baked bread, we will be eating this forever and I have the same set up for Christmas dinner. Nuts, just nuts. I do love the leftovers though. I too have bags ready to store so I will be able to do my concerts and work and not worry about them not eating well.

I refuse to cut back but I am afraid I am really the only person who actually cares about this and I will never be able to give it all up. I really miss having a room full of people to feed.

Actually, I will be 67 in a few weeks. By the time my Mother was my age, oh wait she died in her early 60's, by the time she was 52 I was doing it all. I had hoped that I would have had relief by this time but not because everyone was gone!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. The meaning of the holiday has changed since I was a little one. I am grateful for much.

I’ve cut all the other recipes in half.

Except the Pumpkin pie. Did you know that pumpkin pie is pretty much a quiche and therefore can be eaten for any meal.

Will roast a 3 lb turkey breast today. Make stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy to go with the turkey. Salad. All for one. My oldest son sent me a box of pumpkin Truffles yesterday and I had one last night.

That's it, this year.
