How do you give gifts of music to your young relatives?

I would love to give my grandchildren music. But how? Send a music file to their parents and hope they figure out how to give their children control over it? So they can play it when they wish? How is that done??

I've had to give up.

Do you discuss music with them?

iTunes or Amazon gift cards so they can purchase your recommendations or sharing your iTunes and/or Amazon accounts with them so they can access your recommendations

He loves music and I bought him headphones and a couple of cds for him. His b-day is next week. We'll see how it goes.
