And, while videos are great, sometimes reading two sentences is faster, and that matters for a lot of us--especially on a break from work.

I almost always ignore a post that has a link to a video without any description.

(6,857 posts)take so long to load that it looks like the poster put up a link with nothing else for a good minute or two (and that is a long time when you're trying to pick up as much as possible as fast as you can.)
I realize different browsers act differently, and even the same browser can act differently on different computers, even when the O/S is the same. And in some of your examples, the let-down and frustration is the fault of the poster. But I wonder - that may not always be true.
