A Cat's Hierarchy of Needs

According to Maslow, a person's topmost need is for self-actualization. After everything else has been satisfied, that's what people look for. The topmost need among cats is browsing. Well-fed cas that have had plenty of sleep love to browse the familiar and the unfamiliar. A cat whose whiskers are moving back and forth is truly at the top of its hierarchy of needs.

Other differences: A person's need for sleep takes up only one layer of the hierarchy. Unlike people, cats occupy several layers with sleep; in fact, they achieve self-actualization through snoozing.

Say! Kill that light, willya? I'm trying to get some shut-eye.
