(24,570 posts)Bought used with 2500 miles, for $6000.00. 2 Liter, 6 speed, 50/50 weight/DeDion back end. It reminds me a lot of my 2007 Passat that I still love cruing in. Ran great in the summer, but the all aluminum block engine and starter had some serious issues when the temps started falling.
On edit.....it was this or a 1974 MGB-GT hardtop, Hunter Green. Tough choice....

(28,349 posts)Man, that baby had the biggest trunk. I'd pack it up to go camping with every piece of camping gear imaginable, and still had a bit of room left over. I sold it two years later to buy a 1970 Dodge Challenger. Oh was that thing sweet. It felt like I was driving in a cockpit.
Memories ...
mine leaked, though.

(24,570 posts)My folks had a 1967 Fastback....1st car I drove, manual 5 speed. Dad would let me drive on side rural roads. We'd get to a hill and 1/2 way up he'd say stop. Then I had to figure the cluth/brake/gas/gear position thing.....

(15,144 posts)I remember when every single one of my personal belongings would fit in that car!
The VW emblem on the hood had fallen off (I got it used) at some point, and my Dad got a BMW emblem from his mechanic and glued it on! Somebody once asked who had parked the white BMW in the driveway. It was me!! Very funny.

(24,570 posts)I lied that the Fastback was the 1st car I drove. Actually, it was a 1961 Renault Dauphine Sedan. It was tiny, bet the engine was less than 1.2 liter. It was so small, you could drive around the house and stay on the property! It was like a go-cart with 4 days. Dad taught me to clutch, but not to shift the gears.

(16,855 posts)I drove in high school and then my parents bought me a new car my senior year and they gave the Buick to my grandmother. Later, after I got grown, I bought the car back from my grandmother and drove it for a few more years. I eventually sold it to a guy who worked on it and got it running again and I would see it around town from time to time.

But..., not to rain on the thread, but people should be cautious divulging their own real information about answers to often-used security questions for online accounts. A diligent person might be able to piece things together and either identify you or hack one of your accounts.
Overly cautious, am I.
