(3,579 posts)To this day, I favor the white tee and blue jeans look (non flare, natch) of my 70s sartorial rebellion.

(3,579 posts)Adventure was everywhere for us kids. On some days, the adventure began by avoiding what clothing my mom picked out for me to wear to school. Holy crap, how her choices were awful!
I had this one pair of white pants that had vertical, multiple red and blue stripes that ran from the flair to the waistline and made me look like some demented American clown-child. All the button-down shirts were bright colors, and every one had a supersized collar. And, of course, an itchy, sleeveless vest had to be worn over the damn thing. Looking back, I'm surprised I didn't have a few kiddie-sized leisure suits.

(3,626 posts)I wore for church service on Easter Sunday, 1976. Wore a navy dress shirt underneath and my brand new brown Hush Puppies. Damn, I must have cut a handsome figure

(38,311 posts)I wore Levi's 501s, teeshirts, a hoodie, and shoes I could run in.
Hmmm. I still do.
A good rule of life is:
Wear shoes you can run in and clothes that don't melt or catch fire.
